Snakes of East Africa
The gallery contains several species of snakes from East Africa. Some of them are rarely seen and pictured, among them the Barbour’s viper (Atheris barbouri), the Rungwe bush viper (Atheris rungweensis), the Ornate shovel snout snake (Prosymna ornatissima) and the Loveridge’s Forest Snake (Buhoma procterae) are particularly remarkable. Most of the species are from montane forests, like those on the Eastern Arc Mountains, on Mt. Rungwe and on mountains of the Albertine Rift.
