The big crack
This gallery is part of the photographic report of a scientific expedition carried out between November and December 2008 in Eastern DRC (actually I had to leave the country earlier than planned because of the war) and in Rwanda, in the Nyungwe National Park. The aim of the research was an assessment of the herpetofauna and related conservation priorities of the Nyungwe forest (should have been the same for an area in the Itombwe Mts., in DRC). Nyungwe is a magnificent montane forest in western Rwanda and the survey is just a first step toward a better understanding of this part of the Albertine Rift.
